About

I have been sculpting since 1966, ten years of which I spent living and working on the Greek island of Paros. My home and studio are now in Blakeney, North Norfolk, England.

In the earlier years of my career, I had most of my work cast into bronze, later developing my carving skills using Greek and Italian marble, English stone and varying woods particularly olive wood and, more recently, walnut and ebony.

My sculpture is widely varied, with no limitation or restriction on size or theme.  It is both figurative and abstract and characterised by its sensual and tactile qualities, combining use of natural elements and forms. 

Nature, Greek mythology, and the phenomenon of creation are my principle sources of inspiration.  Rather than being derived from a particular place or activity, much of my work tends to be cerebral, coming from within.  The human figure plays a large part in my work and varies between representation and abstraction.

Throughout my career, my aim has been to evoke a feeling of exploration and participation both visually and emotionally stimulating my audience.  Above all, I seek to share the pleasure which I experience when creating my sculpture.

I have undertaken many public commissions and exhibited internationally.  My sculptures, including portrait heads, are in private collections world-wide.
